First player to own every European Cup

AFTER the Conference League 2022-2023, Emerson Palmieri became the first player to win every European Club Cup that UEFA is organizing.

On the evening of June 7, Emerson won the Conference League 2022-2023 with West Ham. The Brazilian-Italian left-back kicked off the final match against Fiorentina 2-1 at Eden Arena (Prague, Czech).

Before that, in 2019, Emerson won the Europa League with Chelsea. In 2021, he won more Champions League and European Super Cup with the owner of Stamford Bridge.

In 2021, Emerson also won the Euro with Italy. With the addition of the Nations League, he would become the first player to win every European Cup at club and national level.

Italy's best performance in the Nations League is third place in the 2020-2021 season. But in the middle of this month, the celestial army will have another chance. On June 15, if they beat Spain in the semi-finals of the 2022-2023 season, Italy will enter the final to meet the winner of the Netherlands - Croatia pair.

Emerson was born in Brazil, but naturalized in Italy in 2017. The 28-year-old left-back has played for Italy 29 times. Before joining West Ham this season, he was with Santos, Palermo, Roma, Chelsea and Lyon.

In the Conference League final in Prague (Czech Republic), Benrahma opened the scoring for West Ham after 62 minutes. Bonaventura equalized for Fiorentina five minutes later, but could not stop the English team's victory. In the 90th minute, Bowen set the score 2-1 for West Ham .

West Ham are the second Conference League champions. UEFA has held the tournament since last season and Roma were the first champions.

The Conference League was West Ham's first European Cup in 58 years, since the 1964-1965 C2 Cup. The English team also won their first title since the 1979-1980 FA Cup.

This season, West Ham also stand firmly in the English Premier League . They finished the tournament with 14th place and 40 points, after falling to last place in the third round. West Ham are six points ahead of the relegation group. With the Conference League title, West Ham will enter the Europa League next season.
